About Zwinger von der Dornburg

Beginning in 1985, I fell in love with the German Shepherd Dog and the sport of Schutzhund.  My first dog, Jatz von der Herreneiche SchH1, was a small fiery male that was spoiled into thinking he was my handler.  It was a great learning experience for us both.  Jatz trained many helpers with his aggressive disrespect and his quick grips.  He was never a good sport dog but would have made a great K9.  Anastasia von der Berg was his companion until her untimely death at age 5 under the hoofs of neighboring horses.  They had three litters of puppies together and the pups made intelligent family dogs as well as a few that went on to schutzhund.  Jatz passed away at 10 years of age, succumbing to cancer.

Faro von der Arenzburg SchH3 Kkl1'a', Evi von Aktienbuckel, Sina aus der Libido Aue SchH2 Kkl1 'a', Greif von der Kine SchH3 FH kkl1'a' (BSP) (brother to the 1994 Bundessieger), Gitte von der Adelegg SchH3 FH Kkl2'a', Chuna Policia ZVV1, Enjoy v.d. Staeduinhoeve IPO3, Feli von der schwarzen Domain BH, Dundee vom Linsengericht SchH3 FH1 IP3 Kkl1'a' lbz. are some of the dogs have graced my kennel in past years and produced a few litters of puppies.  I am not in the business of just producing puppies, but occasionally I find dogs worthy of breeding the type, temperament and quality of dogs that I feel exemplifies the working qualities of the German Shepherd.  Many puppies from my kennel have gone to police departments, sport homes and families as well as competing in Schutzhund, AKC obedience or Agility.

Currently I have a wide range of ages and schutzhund experience levels in my kennel.
Isa von der Kinzigau SchH3 Kkl1'a' lbz. is a daughter of Dundee and Gitte.  A rocket.  At ten months old, showed up most titled dogs with her vise-like grips and deep, aggressive barking at the helper.   Isa earned her SchH2 title with SG in all phases at 21 months of age.  Isa made her SchH3 at 24 months of age.  She was bred to Rocky Zingelgärten and had her first litter March 2002 (J litter).  In November 2002, she was upgraded from Kkl2 to Kkl1 to the whistles and applause of the crowd who witnessed her awesome protection work.  She earned Kkl1 for lifetime.  Her L litter in January 2004 (via Vico Fuchsgraben) was simply wonderful and I was saddened to hear of Vico's sudden death, a true loss for the breed.   Isa was bred to a young male Anderl 'Jack' vom Haus Ledda SchH1 Kkl2'a' in April 2005 and produced the N litter von der Dornburg.  The R litter arrived in 2006 and was Isa's last.  She is enjoying her retirement and plays like crazy with her son Rommel.
Daisy von den Tempelherren SchH1 Kkl1'a' lbz. is a ball crazy addition to my kennel.  Originally acquired for my dear friend Paul Osborn, Daisy came in from Germany in whelp in January 2004 and had an astounding litter for him.  I will continue to train and title Daisy as Paul wished and look forward to working with her.  She was bred to Bronko vom Twiehauser Eck in Sept 2005 - the P litter - excellent litter and in Oct 2006 the Q litter arrived - repeat of P litter.  She currently has puppies ( T Litter ) from Lex vom Klietzer See SchH3.
Quanta vom Barbatus SchH1
- in 2006 a new fur person to add to my crew!  The last litter from BSP Sieger (94) Gotthilf von der Kine.  We play ball, she barks at the neighbor cats, rides shotgun in the front seat of my VW, chases her bowl when frustrated with me and knocks on the door when she wants to see me. I love to work with her and we are learning to be a harmonious team.  What a cool dog and of course I see glimpses of my old dog, Greif von der Kine (BSP) in her personality.  She has an amazing pedigree and a two litter history of titled progeny.  She had a litter of 2 females in Oct 07 ( S Litter ) from Lex vom Klietzer See SchH3.
Rommel von der Dornburg is now approaching adolescence.  He is a big goof who loves people.  He is my Home Depot partner and goes shopping with me all the time.  Sometimes he reminds me of his grandfather Dundee with his little jokes.  He will be a good team member and is easy to get along with.  And that is a good thing, as he is quite a big boy!

2004 was a big year for me.  I moved to a larger place nearby and continue to clear trees and build kennels.  Three kennels were added to the back of the large shop building.  I built dog boxes inside the shop building allowing the dogs to go in from the three outside kennels for inclement weather.  I have also added satellite kennels with large yards at the entrance to the woods.  The dogs love the yards.
In 2007, I decided that the inside dog houses were not big enough and I replaced them with full size inside accommodations for the dogs.

Many progeny of Dundee continue to amaze and delight me.  I look forward to continuing my kennel through his fiery, intense, focused youngsters.  They are delightful to train with and will win your heart as they do mine.  Dundee is now a grandfather many times over and I am very proud <beaming> to have many titled generations.  Dundee is absent from my home but not from my heart.

Watch for updates as I continue on in my German Shepherd endeavors, the love of my life.

Take care of the breed and be good to your dogs, it will return to you ten-fold.

Yours in the German Shepherd,

Laurie
